A little late getting this posted on this Tuesday, and this was put together before Tuesday night matches took place. Things are beginning to sort themselves out as we head for the volleyball postseason, and the two preseason favorites, appear to continue to have a grasp on the favorites roles as the postseason draws near in this week’s edition of the YSE 2nd Region Volleyball “Super 7.”

– Caldwell County (15-7) – It looks like the tie at the top of the rankings is gonna stay in place until Henderson County and Caldwell County meet on the court on October 4.

– Henderson County (15-7) – See above. October 4th should be fun.

– Christian County (9-14) – Since the calendar hit September, the Lady Colonels from the south have gone 5-2, with the only losses to Henderson County. Playing their best here late in the season. Their sweep of UHA gives them a very very very slight edge in this week’s rankings.

– UHA (15-6) – Was the loss to Christian County a blip on the radar, or was it an indicator of potential problems headed down the stretch. Almost kept UHA at #3, but the sweep by Christian County was just enough to move the Lady Blazers down.

– Madisonville (12-10) – The Lady Maroons looked much better in a four set loss to Caldwell County than Crittenden County did in getting swept in Princeton. This team has just enough weapons to be dangerous in a loser go home situation.

– Crittenden County (17-3) – The Lady Rockets have the best record in the region, but some of that may be their schedule, as we may have seen indication of in their three set loss to Caldwell County and their five set loss to Hopkinsville.

– Hopkins Central (12-8) – The Lady Storm have won seven of their last eight. The loss was a three set sweep to Caldwell County. Again, some of the streak may be scheduling. A big matchup Thursday against Madisonville.
