The Hilltoppers are tied for the lead up north with a chance to close the deal on Tuesday.
CANTON, Mass. — WKU Lady Topper Golf is in the driver’s seat heading into Tuesday’s final round of the Boston College Intercollegiate.
The Lady Toppers finished Monday’s first two rounds with a 36-hole tally of 607 (298-309), tied for the team lead with host Boston College. They’re also second in the field with 21 total birdies.
The field is extremely tight, with just seven strokes separating the top six teams. The final round is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. CT Tuesday at the par-72, 6,137-yard Blue Hills Country Club.
Three Lady Toppers are in the top 15 individually, led by junior Mary Joiner, who’s tied for seventh with a 150 (72-78) total. She’s also tied for the tournament lead with six total birdies.
Sophomore Megan Clarke is one shot back at 151 (75-76) and tied for 12th, while freshman Lizzie Loy is tied for 15th at 152 (73-79). Loy’s first-round 73 and her 36-hole 152 are the best of her young career.
Juniors Bailey Tyree (79-77) and Abigail Smee (78-78) are both tied for 34th with 156 totals.
College of Charleston’s Jodee Tindal leads the field with an even-par 144.
