The Murray State Racers go into Tuesday’s final round four shots off the lead at the Chris Banister Classic women’s golf tournament at Silver Springs Golf Course in Glencoe, Alabama.
The Racers (304-303=607) lost a shot in the second round to leader and host Jacksonville State (301-302=603) and will try to play catch-up in the final 18 holes.
Linette Holmslykke led the Racers with a spot in second place on scores of 74-72=146, while Sarah McDowell was in seventh place on scores of 76-77=153 and Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria was in eighth position after scores of 77-77=154. Raeshya Surendran was in 12th place on scores of 77-81=158 and Jane Watts had scores of 83-77=160 and was in 15th.
Holmlsykke starts the final round four shots off the pace of medalist leader Paula Vega of Jacksonville State who carded scores of 69-73=142.
Murray State’s Anna Moore is playing the event as a solo player and was in 17th place on rounds of 78-83=161.
Tuesday’s final 18 holes begins at 8:33 a.m. with MSU’s Jane Watts teeing off from the first hole.
The Silver Springs Golf Course is part of Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and will play to a par-72 and 6,058 yards.
