A tough weekend for the UHA Lady Blazers volleyball team. The Lady Blazers were in Paducah participating in the Quad State tournament at the Paducah SportsPlex.
UHA began pool play on Friday night. In their opening match, the Lady Blazers fell to Christian Academy of Louisville. CAL took the match in straight sets, winning 25-15 and 25-17. The Lady Blazer’s second match in pool play Friday night had them matched up against White Station. The team from Memphis got a battle from UHA, but got the straight set win 27-25 and 25-19.
The Lady Blazers finished up pool play Saturday morning. The final match of pool play had UHA taking on Hickman County. This time it was the Lady Blazers coming away with the straight set win by the scores of 25-22 and 25-18.
The win over Hickman County moved the Lady Blazers into the Bronze Bracket of the event. In the opening match of bracket play UHA was matched up against Graves County. The Lady Eagles came away with the straight set win over the Lady Blazers 25-13 and 25-21.
UHA then closed out the tournament winning back to back matches. The Lady Blazers defeated CCA 25-15 and 25-20, and then swept Daviess County 25-23 and 26-24 to take 5th place in the bronze bracket.
UHA stands at 18-10 entering the final week of the regular season.
