10-2-macario

The Christian County boys’ soccer team used 3 second-half goals to pull away from visiting Caldwell County 5-2 on Monday at the Stadium of Champions.  The Colonels have won 3-straight to move to 8-10-1, while the Tigers slip to 1-13-1 overall.

After a scoreless opening 30 minutes, Collin Shaffer gave the Tigers the lead on a converted penalty kick in the 33rd minute.  Emmanuel Ixcol tie the game 3 minutes later of an assist from Yeffrey Macario, with Macario scoring unassisted seconds later to give the Colonels their first lead.  However, Caldwell’s Jack Kinsolving scored just before the halftime break to tie the game 2-2.

The Colonels took control 9 minutes into the second half when Macario was on target again off an assist from Ixcol.  Less than 10 minutes later, Ixcol padded the lead with help from Macario, before Ixcol finished off his 2-goal, 2-assist night with a pass to set up a goal by Luke Ferrell with 15 minutes to play.

The Colonels still have one regular-season test remaining, with a trip to Madisonville-North Hopkins (11-5-3) scheduled for Thursday.  Caldwell County will celebrate its Senior Night on Thursday, when the Ballard Memorial Bombers (0-15-1) visit Butler Stadium.
