The Hopkinsville volleyball team traveled to Louisville on Friday to compete in the JCIVT, going 2-3 over the weekend to finish 3rd in the Bronze division. The Lady Tigers now stand at 8-20, and will return to the court at Tiger Gym on Tuesday for a Senior Night contest with Madisonville-North Hopkins.
The Lady Tigers opened play Friday night with a 19-25, 14-25 loss to Butler. In the nightcap, Hoptown knocked off Fern Creek (25-21, 25-21).
They began play Saturday with a 16-25, 15-25 loss to Apollo, before topping Elizabethtown in a tight match 26-24, 25-23. The Lady Tigers advanced to the consolation bracket finals, falling 19-25, 12-25 to Kentucky Country Day.
Karalyn Beymer had 28 kills and 2 assists for Hoptown, followed by Sarah Cavanah with 20 kills, 5 aces and 2 assists. Savannah Peck notched 58 assists and 3 kills, Hope Pace had 16 kills, 5 blocks and an ace, and Hailey Hallmark finished with 8 kills and 4 blocks. Shelby Isenhoff contributed 5 kills and a block, Chandler Adams came up with 6 aces, Kelsey Mata had 5 kills and an ace, and Lauren Watkins collected 3 aces and an assist.
