The Trigg County Lady Wildcats must have felt like they were hearing the music of ZZ Top in the distance during Tuesday evening’s girls regional soccer matchup. Except this was no fun Texas town the Lady Wildcats ran into at the Stadium of Champions.
Madisonville’s LaGrange, Camryn LaGrange that is, lit up the nets for seven goals in leading Madisonville to a 10-0 win over Trigg County. LaGrange became the 3rd player in the girls regional to score at least six goals in a match, joining UHA’s Lilly Strader and Caldwell County’s Kaylee McEnaney, who each score 6 in their team’s first round game.
LaGrange scored goals at 17:35, 25:20, 37:00, 39:30, 48:00, 59:00, and 61:00. Her last goal ended the match due to the 10 goal mercy rule.
Madisonville also got goals from Kensley Zeiba at 15:30, Keely Ashby at 22:50, and Sara Bachman at 29:30.
The Lady Maroons were the agressor from the very beginning, spending virtually all of the match in Trigg County’s end of the pitch. The Lady Wildcats were only able to muster a couple of threats over the match.
Madisonville improves to 16-2 on the season and advances to Wednesday nights second semifinal matchup against Henderson County.
Trigg County ends their season at 5-14-1.
