It was another long, tough night Friday night for the Fort Campbell Falcons. In cold and rainy conditions, the Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado got off to a fast start and never looked back in cruising past the Falcons 49-0 in the district finale for both teams.

The Falcons, who had seen their numbers drop since the bye week, were additionally short handed with two players unavailable after being ejected in the second half of the Caldwell County game last week.

Tilghman blitzed the Falcons for 36 points in the first quarter of play, scoring on all three first quarter possessions, a fumble return, and a punt return on the last play of the quarter. Tilghman went for the two point coversion on the punt return to get to the 36 point lead and begin the running clock with the first play of the second quarter.

Mikel Askew began the onslaught for Tilghman scoring on a five yard run at 8:33 in the 1st to make it 7-0. Malachi Kirby was on the receiving end of a 53 yard pass from Camdon Marshall to make it 14-0 with 4:31 left in the first quarter.

Colbe Crim got in on the action next with a 27 yard run to extend the lead to 21-0 with 3:20 to go in the opening quarter. Tilghman quickly found the end zone again, this time when Amarion Patterson returned a Falcon fumble 37 yards for a score making it 28-0 with 1:08 to go in the quarter.

After the Falcons went three and out on their next possession, Jayden Freeman returned a punt 46 yards as the horn sounded. The two point conversion made it 36-0 after one quarter.

Tilghman scored again on their first possession in the second quarter when Tay Shawn Carruthers ripped off a 39 yard run to make it 43-0

One of the telling stats in the first half was total yardage, as the Blue Tornado outgained the Falcons 232-4.

The only score of the second half came when Tilghman’s Tyus White scored on a 20 yard run with 8:34 to go in the game to reach the final 49-0 score.

For the night the Blue Tornado outgained the Falcons 319-25.

The loss drops Fort Campbell to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the district. The Falcons will end the season at home next Friday against Madisonville.

Tilghman improves to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the district. They will wrap up the regular season next Friday at Christian County.
