A Heritage Christian Academy senior is one of 176 school winners of the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award given out annually by the fast food chain. Allie Maternowski was named a school winner this week.
Eligibility begins with maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or better, plus applicants also need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community, according to the Wendy’s Heisman website.
Maternowski is a starter on Heritage Christian Academy’s region championship volleyball team that will play for a KCAA state championship this weekend. She also plays on the HCA tennis team.
