Trigg County softball coach Toree McMain’s arrival has coincided with a upswing in fortunes for the Lady Wildcats, with the program posting back-to-back winning seasons over the last two years. The last time a Trigg softball team finished above .500 previously was the 2004 season under former Wildcat football coach and current Hopkinsville assistant football coach, Curtis Higgins.
The Lady Wildcats improvement has led to players moving on to the next level, the most recent being catcher Ashlyn Keller’s commitment to Brescia University. After Keller made it official on Thursday, McMain talked about the player and person the Bearcats are getting, and what it means to the program to have former Lady Wildcats playing in college.
