The Caldwell County Lady Tigers pitched a shutout in the opening quarter Saturday evening on their way to a big win over the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons. Two Lady Tiger reserves led a total of ten players to score in the 57-13 win at the CAB.
The game got underway with the Lady Tigers taking advantage of their strength inside. Karsyn Parker and Bella McConnell each scored six points in the first quarter as Caldwell County bolted out to a 20-0 lead after one.
Lady Tiger reserves saw much of the playing time in the second quarter. With Parris Gray scoring six points, Caldwell County outscored Fort Campbell 11-8 in the quarter to extend the lead out to 31-8 at the half.
Neither team got much going in the beginning of the second half. Caldwell County put up twice as many points as Fort Campbell in the quarter, but neither team’s offense was potent, as the Lady Tigers edged the lead out to 37-11 after three.
In the final quarter, Caldwell County reserves Emilee Campbell and Parris Gray combined to score 14 points. Meanwhile, on defense, the Lady Tigers gave up only a field goal as Caldwell County pulled out to the final 44 point margin.
Emilee Campbell was the leading scorer for Caldwell County with 15 points. Parris Gray added 12.
Fort Campbell was led by Asis Cabill with 8 points, while Lilliauna Powers added the remaining five points.
The win moves Caldwell County to 3-2 on the season.
Fort Campbell falls to 0-8.
