Jordan Grace has been named the new softball coach at University Heights Academy. Grant Shouse, the school’s athletic director, made Grace’s hiring official Tuesday morning.
“We are excited to have Jordan lead our softball program,” he said. “As a graduate, he has first-hand experience with University Heights and has a passion for the game. We are confident in his abilities to build the softball program to the level we expect for years to come.”
Grace is a 2009 graduate of UHA where he was a three-sport athlete. He played soccer at Rend Lake College after high school and has served as a Lady Blazer assistant coach the past two seasons under Mindy Hargrove, who resigned last week after three seasons as head coach.
Grace takes over a program that was won 19 games in three seasons. Last year’s squad finished 1-10 and had seven middle schoolers on the roster.
