Like many good volleyball players in the Hopkinsville area, Ariyonna Johnson got her start in Court Time volleyball — a sports program designed to identify and develop volleyball skills in young players.
The Christian County senior has now parlayed her career, which has seen her be named All-District two years — into a college scholarship to Kentucky State University. Johnson is one of the top net players in the region due to her athletic ability. She is also a standout for the Christian County track and field team in relay and jumping events.
Johnson used volleyball as an escape for other things that were happening in her life growing up. Now, she is using it to escape to Frankfort and continue her volleyball career. Afterward, she is looking to get a start in a veterinary medicine.
