The Todd County Central girls’ basketball team struggled to find the basket in its first game of the Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic on Thursday, enduring a scoreless second quarter on the way to a 59-14 loss to hosts Murray High School. The Lady Tigers win their fifth-straight to improve to 10-1, while the Lady Rebels drop their third in a row to slip to 2-6 overall. Todd County will be back in action in Murray tomorrow with an afternoon game against Taylor County (7-4).
The Lady Tigers used 15 first-quarter points from Elizabeth Curtis to open up a 24-7 advantage. The Lady Rebels couldn’t get on the board in the second, trailing 39-7 at the halftime break.
The second half was a formality, with Murray outscoring Todd County 20-7 over the remainder of the game for the 45-point victory.
Elmoni Forte had 6 points to lead the Lady Rebels. Curtis’ 23 paced the Lady Tigers, followed by Calli Carver with 16.
