Lady Rebels Fall Late to Taylor County in Murray Tournament

A strong 4th quarter by the Taylor County Lady Cardinals turned out to be the difference as the Todd County Central Lady Rebels lost their 4th consecutive game Friday afternoon. Taylor County upended the Lady Rebels 40-33 in the Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic.

The game started off positive for the Lady Rebels. Todd County Central limited Taylor County to just seven points in the opening quarter, as the Lady Rebels got out to an 11-7 lead.

The Lady Cardinals battled back in the second quarter. Taylor County was able to close the margin to one point as the teams went to the break with Todd County Central leading 21-20.

Both teams struggled offensively during the 3rd quarter. Todd County Central was limited to two field goals by Emoni Forte. Taylor County managed just three baskets in the quarter, but that was enough for the Lady Cardinals to tie the game at 26-26 heading into the final quarter.

Taylor County’s defense was then able to take control of the game. The Lady Cardinals limited Todd Central to only three field goals in the final quarter, as Taylor County pulled out to the final seven point margin.

Emoni Fort and Paige Rager each had 11 points for the Lady Rebels. Jordan Weathers added 5.

The loss dropped Todd County Central to 2-7 on the season.
