Lady Colonels Coast to District Win at Fort Campbell

Eleven different players scored for Christian County in their 61-3 win at Fort Campbell Saturday, pushing their record in Eighth District play to 1-0.

Lady Colonel Coach Kiki Radford only played her starters for half of the first quarter, never pressed, and played a zone defense against the outmanned Lady Falcons.

Christian County led 20-3 after one quarter and 38-3 at halftime.

Reni Shemwell scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Mikayah Killebrew also scored 12 points.

Danielle Houston’s first quarter 3-pointer was the lone Falcon bucket of the contest. Fort Campbell was 1-of-24 from the field.

Christian County was 29-of-60 from the field and outrebounded Fort Campbell 35-13.

The three points allowed is the fewest in Christian County’s basketball history. There were three total fouls called in the game.

Fort Campbell fell to 0-16 on the season and have lost 72 straight games dating back to 2016. The Lady Falcons play at Ohio County Thursday.

Christian County (8-6) hosts University Heights Academy Tuesday.
