Colin Stevens was the lone Trigg County wrestler to place at the Father Ryan Johnny Drennan Memorial Wrestling Tournament held Saturday at Father Ryan High School in Nashville.
Stevens won two matches by pin and one by decision in the 170-pound class leading up to his semifinal match. He defeated Mt. Juliet’s Dylan Quinn 8-6 to advance to the championship match where he lost to Union County’s Micah Ervin 5-3. It was the second time in three weeks that Ervin decisioned Stevens in the championship match of the 170-pound division.
Thomas Bruce, Andrew Hendricks, and Ty Saez all won matches but did not place.
As a team, Trigg County tallied 36 points to finish 29th out of 44 teams.
