Caldwell County's football banquet was held on Sunday.

Caldwell County held its annual football banquet on Sunday afternoon in the high school cafeteria. With a bow put on the 2018 season, in which the Tigers went 8-4 before falling to LaRue County in the second round of the playoffs, Caldwell now looks ahead to the 2019 season.

After a four-year run in Class 3A, the Tigers will drop back to the 2A ranks this fall. Caldwell will be in the same district as Mayfield, Murray, Ballard Memorial and Fort Campbell.

With the new district comes a new look to the schedule for the Caldwell football team.

The Tigers will kick off 2019 with three straight home games. Christian County remains the opener and is set for Aug. 23.

Owensboro Apollo joins the Caldwell slate for the first time and will travel to Tiger Stadium on Aug. 30.

Caldwell visits Hopkinsville on Sept. 6.

Caldwell then hits the road for a trip to Crittenden County on Sept. 13.

Union County visits Tiger Stadium on Sept. 20.

Caldwell then plays its first district game at Ballard Memorial on Sept. 27.

The Tigers have back-to-back home dates with Mayfield and Fort Campbell on Oct. 4 and Oct. 11.

Caldwell visits Murray for its final district game of the season on Oct. 18.

After an off week, the Tigers finish the regular season with a trip to longtime rival Trigg County on Nov. 1.

Gone from Caldwell’s schedule from the last two years are Paducah Tilghman, Graves County and Henderson County.

Caldwell head coach David Barnes is eight wins away from becoming the school’s all-time winningest coach. Fred Clayton and Pat Gates share that mark with 117 wins. Barnes is 110-50 in 13 seasons at his alma mater.
