The state softball tournament is on the move to a new location, effective this season. The tournament, which had been played for the last eleven years at Jack Fisher Park in Owensboro is headed for Lexington.
The KHSAA Board of Contol decided Wednesday to hold the 2019 tournament and the 2020 tournament at John Cropp Stadium at the University of Kentucky. The Board had previously decided to change the format of the tournament to a single elimination event. Additionally, only 8 teams will reach the state tournament, as the KHSAA has added a sectional round of play.
The 2019 tournament will mark the first time that the state softball championship has been held in Lexington.
