The hometown of Superman was not kind to the Fort Campbell Falcons Thursday night. The Massac County Patriots held the Falcons to 3 points in the opening quarter and then shut the Falcons out in the 4th quarter on their way to a 66-29 win over Fort Campbell in the consolation bracket of the Superman Classic.
Cameron Pratt’s 3-pointer was the only score for the Falcons in the opening quarter. Massac’s defense clamped down while their offense got on an early roll. By the end of the quarter the Patriots were out to a 20-3 lead.
While the Falcon offense was able to get something going in the 2nd quarter, the Patriots kept on rolling. Massac County spent a good portion of the 2nd quarter at the free throw line, as they were able to extend the lead on out to 42-16 at the half.
Behind the play of Jase Mizell and Hayden Lee, Massac County continued to extend the lead in the 3rd quarter. The Patriots outscored Fort Campbell 18-13 in the quarter to push the lead on out to 60-29.
The game reached running clock status in the 4th quarter, as the Patriots held the Falcons scoreless and finished on out to the 37 point margin.
Doryan Hall was the leading scorer for the Falcons with 7 points. Jaylen Allen added five.
Zach Travis led Massac County with 15 points. Hayden Lee added 14.
The Falcons drop to 5-11 with the loss, which is their 5th in a row.
