The Trigg County girls’ basketball team had a three-game win streak snapped with a 62-41 loss at Union County on Friday night. The Lady Wildcats slip to 8-10 overall, while the Lady Braves end a three-game losing run to move to 6-9 on the year.
Marleigh Reynolds and Rylee Bush each scored 4 first-quarter points for the Lady Wildcats, but they trailed 17-11 heading into the second quarter. Courtlyn Beaven and Mollie Morris combined for 12 of the Lady Braves 14 second-quarter points, helping them to a 31-17 halftime advantage.
Trigg County couldn’t make up any ground after halftime, being outscored by 6 over the course of the second half. Reynolds scored 4 and Adri Phillips added 6 in the fourth quarter for the Lady Wildcats, but Beaven countered with 8 to help seal the Union County victory.
Beaven’s 20 led all scorers, followed by Morris with 15 for the Lady Braves.
Reynolds was the only Lady Wildcat in double figures with 10, followed by Bush and Phillips with 8 each.
