
The Todd County Central Rebels came up just short of a statement victory at Barren County on Saturday, falling 59-58 to the Trojans. Todd County slips to 5-17 overall, while Barren County snaps a 2-game losing streak to move to 11-10 on the year.
Austin Rager scored 9 first-quarter points and Jon Calvery added 7 to give the Rebels a 19-12 advantage. Will Bandy tossed in 7 for the Trojans.
Bandy and Tyler Bush scored 6 each in the second quarter for the Trojans, overcoming Calvery’s 6 for a 32-30 halftime advantage.
Calvery scored 7 in the third quarter and Rager added 5, but Bush scored 6 to help the Trojans keep a 2-point edge going into the final 8 minutes.
Calvery continued his strong performance with 6 in the fourth, but the Rebels would fall just short in a 1-point loss.
Calvery’s 26 led all scorers, joined in double figures for the Rebels by Rager with 19.
Bandy finished with 20 for the Trojans, followed by Bush with 15.
