Strong Second Quarter Sends Lady Maroons Past Dawson Springs

Madisonville used an 18-5 second quarter run to pick up a 44-27 district win Monday in Madisonville.

Sisters Courtney (19 points) and Lindsey Peyton (15 points) paced the Lady Maroons, who improved to 5-0 in district play and wrapped up a No. 1 seed in the Seventh District Tournament.

Dawson Springs had nine field goals in the contest, including five 3-pointers. Brooklyn Clark had three of the five treys and finished with 15 points. Denisha Randolph knocked down a pair of threes and had six points.

Dawson Springs was hampered by 24 turnovers in the contest.

Madisonville improves to 16-6 and will host McLean County Tuesday.

Dawson Springs (7-12, 0-3) needs two wins in their last three district games to avoid the No. 4 seed in the tournament and a first round rematch with the Lady Maroons. Dawson Springs will host Community Christian Tuesday.
