Lady Colonels Nearly Steal Road Game at Owensboro Catholic

Christian County overcame an eight-point deficit in the final minute of regulation to force overtime before succumbing to Owensboro Catholic 68-54 Tuesday at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

Christian County got six steals in the final 57 seconds wipe out the Lady Aces advantage but was outscored 16-2 in the overtime period.

The Lady Colonels led 27-24 at halftime before the Lady Aces used a strong third quarter and held Christian County to 12 points in the frame.

Bianna Snorton scored 10 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter. Aaliyah Hampton added 14 points and Eniya McGee scored 10 points.

McKenzie Keelin led Owensboro Catholic (19-6), the All-A Classic state champions, with 20 points and five rebounds. Hannah McKay added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Christian County (14-8) will face another strong Class A school Thursday when they welcome in the 2018 All-A Classic state champs Murray to Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium.
