Hopkinsville’s Kevonni Young won a match at the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Lexington Friday before seeing his day end in the consolation round.
Young won his opening match of the day in the 152-pound class with a pin of Trinity’s Brendan Corley (2:39). He was defeated in the second round by Taylor County’s Griffin Hall by pin in 1:30.
Young was eliminated in the consolation round by Boone County’s Ethan Huffman by pin (2:31).
The junior was the lone representative for Hopkinsville at the state tournament after finishing second at the Region I Meet last week.
