Slow Start Sends Lady Colonels to Loss at Henderson

The Christian County girls’ basketball team was held to 12 first-half points in a 56-47 loss to host Henderson County on Thursday night.  Christian County has dropped three-straight and five of six to close the regular season at 15-12 overall.  The top-seeded Lady Colonels host Fort Campbell in the 8th-District tournament.

Henderson County used 7 points from Katie Rideout to take a 12-3 lead after the first quarter.  The Lady Colonels were held to single digits in the second quarter as well, trailing 24-12 at halftime.

Emilee Hope scored 8 in the third for Henderson, but the Lady Colonels trimmed 4 points off the margin to trail 34-26.  Aaliyah Hampton caught fire in the fourth, scoring 16 points for the Lady Colonels, but Alyssa Dickson countered with 9 to help Henderson to the 9-point win.

Dickson finished with 23 for Henderson, followed by Hope with 15 and Rideout with 13.

Hampton was the only Lady Colonel in double figures with 23.  Trinity McGee scored 9.
