With Christian County’s Aaliyah Hampton on the bench with two fouls, and the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers finding their way to the free throw line with regularity, the opportunity was there for the Lady Tigers to build a substantial first-half lead in Thursday night’s 8th-District title game. However, they could only manage 1-12 from the line in the first half, and while they did hold a halftime lead, it wasn’t enough as they ultimately fell 61-51 to the Lady Colonels in double-overtime.
Afterward, Coach Anthony Babb talked about missed opportunities, and the problems the Lady Tigers faced with senior point guard Breon Oldham on the bench after fouling out in the fourth quarter.
