The Lyon County girls’ basketball team was willing to give up outside shots and crash the backboard against Christian County in Thursday night’s 2nd Region quarterfinal, and it looked like it might pay off with the Lady Lyons within a point late in the third quarter. The Lady Colonels would pull away over the final 8 minutes for a 50-39 victory, booking a spot in Monday’s semifinal with Webster County.
After the game, Coach Jeff Doom talked about the Lady Lyons’ defensive approach against the bigger and quicker Lady Colonels.
