Caldwell County senior Trel Riley has been named to the 16th annual All-BluegrassPreps.com Football Team.
Each year, BluegrassPreps.com honors the state’s top 36 players. The All-BluegrassPreps.com football team honors the 12 best offensive and 12 best defensive players. Unique to the All-BluegrassPreps.com football team is the special recognition of 12 additional players who are listed simply as athletes.
Riley was named to the BluegrassPreps.com Defense.
Riley is Caldwell County’s all-time interception king. With five picks last fall in his senior season, Riley finished his career with 15 interceptions — one more than both Dee Cain (2012-15) and Stewart Childress (1996-98).
Earlier, Riley was named First-Team All-State by the Courier-Journal and Second-Team All-State by the Associated Press.
