Trigg County Coach Cory Coble was named the Second Region Coach of Year after leading the Lady Wildcats to their most wins in 27 years.
Coble was presented his COY award during the region semifinals Monday at Crittenden County. The Lady Wildcats were 16-16 and won the school’s first district title in a decade. Their win over Crittenden County in the first round of the district tournament was the 400th in program history.
The 16 wins by Trigg were the most since 2002-03 which included snapping a 45-game district losing streak and later winning the district championship.
Coble just completed his third season as Trigg County girls’ coach.
