(Kentucky 2A Championships)
The Kentucky 2A Championships announced today that the organization is going to eight sections for its state competitions.
The inaugural 2A Championships had four sections for this past basketball season.
Teams in Section 1 for the 2019-20 season are Calloway County, Hopkins County Central, Trigg County, Union County and Webster County.
Teams in Section 2 will be Allen County-Scottsville, Franklin-Simpson, Warren Central, Warren East, Adair County and Hart County.
The Kentucky 2A Championships crowned its first two state champions in January. John Hardin won the boys’ 2A Championships while Christian Academy of Louisville claimed the girls’ 2A Championships.
According to the organization’s website, the 2020-21 school year will bring the addition of the baseball and softball state championships; volleyball, boys soccer and girls soccer will follow in the 2021-22 school year.
