Madisonville took advantage of one bad inning by Henderson County to claim a 4-3 win over the Colonels Tuesday at Elmer Kelley Stadium.
Jon Hogart and Cole Lawrence led off the fourth inning with singles. After a passed ball, a fielder’s choice scored Hogart. A sacrifice fly scored Lawrence, and the Maroons added a third run with another passed ball.
Henderson got to within one run in the seventh inning on a Madisonville passed ball before Hogart got a strike out to end the game. Hogart had two of Madisonville’s five hits.
Alex Gray picked up the pitching win with six innings of seven-hit baseball. He struck out four and walked one.
Jake Murdach and Spencer Bartlett each had two hits for Henderson County.
The Maroons (1-0) play at Webster County Thursday.
