The Fort Campbell Falcons scored in every inning Saturday afternoon on the way to their first win of the 2019 season. The Falcons headed south of the border and came away with a 12-9 win at Kenwood.
The Falcons plated one in the first, two in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth, two more in the sixth, and one in the 7th in picking up the victory. Fort Campbell got out to a 7-2 lead after the top of the 4th and then was able to hold off Kenwood down the stretch for the win.
In scoring their 12 runs, the Falcons came up with 15 hits and took advantage of nine walks from Kenwood pitchers.
Tyler MacKay had a huge game for the Falcons, going 5-5 with two doubles, 3 RBIs, and four runs scored. Ryan Sawyer was 3-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Eli Crockett was 2-5 with a double, and two RBI’s.
Dylan Johnson went 4 2/3 for the Falcons, giving up nine runs, seven of them earned, on six hits, striking out seven, and walking three. Ryan Sawyer then finished out the game on the mound for Fort Campbell, giving up no runs on one hit, striking out three and walking only one.
Fort Campbell (1-2) returns to action Monday at home against Hopkinsville.
