Caldwell County Tennis Teams Net Wins Over Hoptown

Caldwell County’s tennis teams picked up wins over Hopkinsville on Monday at the CCHS tennis courts in Princeton.
Caldwell’s girls swept five matches from Hoptown while Caldwell’s guys won four of five matches.
In girls singles play, Belle Englebright defeated Riley Fort 6-0, 6-0; Maddie Morgan won over Anna Maddux 8-5; and Chasie Phelps downed Abby Moss 8-1.
In girls doubles, Morgan and Phelps topped Skylar Ray and Sophie Maddux 6-1, 6-0; and Englebright and Kaylee McEnaney turned back Ella Lester and Allie Fort 8-4.
In boys singles, Caldwell’s Jordan Hammett dropped a close 0-6, 6-1, 10-8 decision to Hopkinsville’s Kanta Hakamato, but Caldwell won the other four matches.
Brycen Banister held off Spenser Powell 8-5 and Ryan Hammett defeated Hayden Woosley 8-5.
In boys doubles, Shelton Cansler and Jordan Hammett picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Zach Moore and Ethan Bailey while Banister and Michael Henry beat Maxwell Bauseman and Spencer Walker 8-2.
