The Caldwell County Lady Tiger softball team may be two games under .500 at 7-9 this season, but eight of the team’s nine losses have come to teams that are currently ranked.
That list includes No. 3 Christian County, No. 6 McCracken County, No. 10 Webster County, No. 14 Henderson County and No. 16 Madisonville-North Hopkins.
In addition, three losses came in Alabama in games that were all competitive. That group features Bob Jones (No. 6 in Class 7A), Ardmore (No. 6 in 5A) and Pisgah (No. 2 in 3A).
Following Tuesday’s win at Hopkins County Central, Caldwell head coach David Choate said that stiff early-season slate has been beneficial to his team.
