Drew McGowan is that athlete that is good at whatever sport they play. While his performance in key moments gets notice, it’s his hard work behind the scenes that often goes unnoticed.
The University Heights Academy senior is an all-region player in both basketball and baseball. He was good enough to get college offers in both sports before signing to play Mississippi State in baseball — one of the top programs in the Southeastern Conference.
McGowan is also a standout in the classroom, expected to graduate near the top of his class at UHA.
Before McGowan heads off to Starkville in the fall, local baseball fans will get the chance to watch him finish the high school season with the Blazers and play for the Hoptown Hoppers this summer.
