Heritage Christian Academy’s girls’ soccer team finished in a 1-1 tie Saturday at home, using a second half goal to force the stalemate.
HCA had some opportunities to score in the first half but just missed on several good looks. After scoreless first half, Somerset scored with 16 minutes left in the contest.
The Lady Warriors continued their aggressive push to the goal in the final minutes and tied the game on an Abbi Bullock goal with four minutes left.
HCA Coach Michelle Henson credited Mia Kessler for her strong play on defense as well as the play of Chelsea Dortch in goal. The all-state basketball player is playing soccer for HCA for the first time this spring.
“Overall, I could not be more proud of the effort we gave on the field,” Henson said.
HCA will play at Somerset Christian May 4.
