The Hopkinsville softball team was victimized by a four-run first inning in a 5-0 loss to host Crittenden County on Monday night, the Lady Tigers fifth-straight loss.  Hoptown will try to end its skid on Tuesday when it makes the trip to face 5-11 McLean County.

Crittenden County loaded the bases with two out in the bottom of the first, with two runners coming home on a wild pitch before Brandy Book capped the four-run frame with a 2-run homer to center field.

The Lady Rockets added the final run in the bottom of the third, and that would be all Crittenden pitcher Jenna Potter would need.  Potter scattered 4 hits over seven innings for the win, walking 4 and striking-out eight.

Marley Hancock took the loss for the Lady Tigers, yielding 5 runs, 2 earned, on 5 hits, with a single walk.  Sabrina Hodge led the way at the plate with 2 hits, while Taiya Straight and Morgan Hodge each hit safely once.
