
Lyon County scored three times in the first inning to back the pitching of Kaelyn Conger as the Lady Lyons shut out Union County 4-0 Monday in Morganfield.
Conger pitched a four-hitter, striking out five and walking just one in picking up the win.
Lyon County used a Sydney Melton single, two Union County errors and a passed ball to score three runs in the first inning. Lyon added a run when Allye Culp singled, Gracen Wynn doubled, and Melton reached on an error that scored Culp. Union County (4-13) finished with four errors in the contest.
Culp had three of Lyon County’s nine hits in the game. Calista Collins and Rachel Coursey joined Wynn with doubles in the game.
Lyon County (17-9) will play at Livingston Central Thursday.
