The UHA Blazers made the trip to McLean County on Tuesday night, but their bats may have missed the bus, as they were held to just 3 hits in a 10-0 loss to the host Cougars. The defeat is the Blazers’ second-straight and sees them slip below .500 at 10-11 overall. UHA will be back in action on Thursday against 8th-District rival Hopkinsville.
McLean County broke through in the bottom of the third against UHA starter Ian Tyler, with an RBI double by AJ Cline and a run-scoring single from Colton Johnson resulting in a 5-0 lead.
The Cougars added 2 runs in the fifth, before closing the show in style in the bottom of the sixth on a 2-run home run by Jacob Miller.
Grant Lovell earned the win for McLean, working 3.2 innings while allowing a single hit with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks.
