Trigg County’s Audie Smith set her score to reach at 295 as she prepared for Tuesday’s KHSAA Girls Archery Tournament in Bowling Green. Smith hit a bullseye with her score – a 295 that was good enough for fourth place in the state.
Smith, who finished ninth in the state last year, joins a select few Trigg County female archers with multiple top-10 finishes at the KHSAA State Tournament, which began in 2013. The KHSAA split the sport by gender in 2017.
Smith, who has been shooting since the fourth grade, set a personal best high score with the 295 and set a new school record for female archers at the KHSAA State Tournament. She had 26 tens for her round and finished two points behind the winner, Hannah Ramsey of Richmond Model.
The sophomore still has more tournaments left at the NASP level, including the national tournament in Nashville.
