The Hopkinsville baseball team was held to a single hit by four pitchers in a 4-0 loss to visiting Henderson County on Friday night, snapping a four-game win streak and leaving the Tigers at 14-7 on the year.  The Colonels avenge a 17-5 six-inning loss to the Tigers earlier this month to improve to 17-10 overall.

The Tigers drew three walks in the first inning, but were unable to push a run across against Henderson starter Andrew Mills.  The Colonels led off the top of the fourth with a double by Jake Murdach, and after advancing to third on a wild pitch, he came home on a ground-out to take a 1-0 lead.

Henderson would extend the lead in the fifth with back-to-back singles to start the inning, before adding 2 runs on a Tiger error and a fourth on a sacrifice fly.

Blake Balthrop singled for the Tigers’ only hit to start the bottom of the seventh, but two ground-outs and a strikeout ended the game.

Robert Justus was the hard-luck loser for the Tigers, yielding 4 runs, only one earned, on 3 hits with 3 walks and 9 strikeouts over six innings.  Jacob Dilday pitched the seventh, allowing a hit and striking-out one.

Mills pitched three innings for the win for the Colonels, walking 4 and striking-out 4, followed by two innings from Sam Elliott.  Lake Williams pitched the sixth and Murdach got the final three outs in the seventh.

The Tigers will be on the road on Monday, making the trip to Russellville to face Logan County, owners of the 4th-Region’s best record at 21-4.
