The Todd Central Rebels ended a two game losing skid and picked up their third win of the season Tuesday evening. The Rebels took an early lead and then closed out their game with Russellville with a nine run 5th inning on their way to a 14-4 win in Elkton.
Todd Central jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Big hits in the inning were an RBI triple from Clayte Weathers and an RBI double from Tanner Farmer.
The Rebels extended the lead to 5-0 with single runs in the bottom of the 2nd and in the bottom of the 3rd.
The Panthers tried to make a game of it, coming up with four runs in the top of the 4th inning to cut the lead to one run at 5-4. The game stayed there until the bottom of the 5th inning.
The Rebels then closed out the game with a big nine run inning in the bottom of the 5th to make it 14-4 and end the game due to the 10 run rule. Todd Central took advantage of three walks, two hit batters, and two Russellville errors to key the big inning.
Clayte Weathers had a big night for the Rebels, going 2-4, with a triple, an RBI, and three runs scored. Bryce Nolan was 2-3, with a double, and a run scored. Ethan Bicksler ended up 2-2, with an RBI, and a run scored.
On the mound, Tanner Farmer picked up the win, going 4 innings, giving up four runs, only one of them earned, striking out four, and walking only two.
