A long road trip and a tough day Saturday for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. The Lady Rebels made the drive to Hickman County and dropped a pair of games. The Lady Falcons won the opener 15-2 in five innings, and then had to battle to fight off Todd Central in the second game .
In the first game of the day, Hickman County exploded for 11 runs in the bottom of the third inning to take full control of the game with a 13-2 lead on their way to the 13 run win.
The Lady Rebels actually took the early lead in the game as Paige Rager came up with an RBI double in the top of the 1st to give Todd Central the 1-0 lead. Hickman County responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to go up 2-1.
Todd Central would add a run in the top of the 4th on a solo home run to left by Abby McPherson. McPherson ended up 1-2, with the home run, and an RBI. Paige Rager went 2-2, with a double, a triple, and an RBI. Whitney Higgins was 1-3, with a run scored.
In the second game between the teams, Todd Central rallied from a 9-4 deficit with six runs in the top of the 6th inning to go up 10-9. Hickman County tied it with a run in the bottom of the inning, and then walked off in the bottom of the 7th with a one out RBI single to pick up the 11-10 win.
Hickman County outhit the Lady Rebels 18-5 in the game, but still needed the late game heroics to pull out the win. Lady Falcon pitching woes opened the door for the Lady Rebels in the top of the 6th, as Hickman County gave up three walks, one hit batter, and committed an error, to allow the big inning.
Whitney Higgins went 1-4, and drove in four runs for Todd Central. Emma Harris was 1-3, with an RBI, and two runs scored. Jordan Weathers ended up 1-4, with an RBI, and a run scored.
