On the night that the UHA Lady Blazers honored their only senior Rachael Snyder, their bats were silenced by Hopkins Central pitching. The Lady Storm held the Lady Blazers without a hit and cruised to the 16-1 win Monday evening at University Heights.
After being recognized prior to the game, the contest got off to a very rough start for Snyder in the circle. Snyder hit the first three batters she faced, loading the bases for the Lady Storm in the top of the first inning. Central would end up scoring three runs after an early pitching change for UHA to take the early lead.
The Lady Storm kept things rolling in the second inning, scoring six more runs to extend the lead to 9-0.
The Lady Blazers took advantage of two Hopkins Central errors in the bottom of the second to score their only run of the game and trim the lead to 9-1.
The Lady Storm added five more runs in the top of the 3rd to make it 14-1, and then scored two more in the top of the 4th to finish the game out.
