Eighth grader Ella Brown brought home Christian County’s lone win at the Second Region Tennis Tournament Monday in Henderson. Brown needed three sets to beat Lyon County’s Audrey Crayne 6-2, 5-7, and 10-8 in a marathon tiebreaker.
She went on to lose to two-time defending region champion Belle Englebright 6-0, 6-0 in the second round.
In doubles’ play, Alexis Hogan and Carley Shaw dropped their opener to Fort Campbell’s Nitzay Irizarry-Rivera and Halee Brugge 6-0, 6-0. Jamie Keim and Paige Gilliam were pushed to a tiebreaker against Fort Campbell’s Jaida Smith and Chandler Burgoyne before falling 6-2, 7-6.
