Lyon County’s Audrey Crayne and Christian County’s Ella Brown played the longest match Monday at the Second Region Tennis Tournament in Henderson, with Crayne falling in three sets.
Brown was able to survive a 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 win over Crayne, who teamed with Caitlin Comerford to win a doubles match at last year’s region tourney.
Comerford, who has signed to play tennis at Bethel University, dropped her opening round match Union County’s Emily Hibbs 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles play, Jakhia Burks and Octavia Bradley lost to Caldwell County’s Shae Sharp and Josie Shaffer 6-3, 6-0, while Zoe Board and Anna Yanez lost to Henderson County’s Riley Lovell and India Lovan 6-1, 6-1.
