Todd County Central picked up a pair of mercy rule softball wins over Dawson Springs Tuesday in Elkton, closing out their regular season with nine wins for the second straight year.
The Lady Rebels won the opener 12-2 in five innings as the Lady Rebels crossed the plate in every inning. Jordan Weathers keyed a four-run first inning with an RBI double. Paige Rager added a two-run single as part of a two-hit, four RBI day. Weathers also had two hits, while Whitney Higgins doubled and singled with an RBI. Haylee Vass added two hits, and Emma Harris drove in two runs.
Maddie Williams struck out seven and allowed two hits in picking up the win for the Lady Rebels.
Cydney Collins had a hit and RBI for Dawson Springs.
In the nightcap, Todd County dispensed with any drama early as they scored 10 runs in the first inning on their way to a 16-1 win.
Rachel Bilyeu doubled twice and drove in four runs in the first inning alone, while Emma Harris tripled and singled and drove in two runs in the first frame. Bilyeu finished with five RBIs, and Harris added another hit and three RBIs total. Jordan Weathers also doubled for Todd County.
Cydney Collins had a first inning RBI single for Dawson Springs’ lone run.
Haylee Vass got the pitching win for Todd County, who finishes their regular season with a record of 9-16. The Lady Rebels will play host Logan County next week in the 13th District Tournament at Logan County High School.
