While there still is some work left to be done in the 2019 softball season, the search for a new head softball coach at Christian County High School will soon get underway. Christian County coach Johnny Blane has tendered his resignation as coach, effective June 30. While the move is not an unexpected one, Blane officially notified school officials Monday.

Blane tells YourSportsEdge.Com that the primary reason behind is decision is that his daughter, starting shortstop Emmy Blane, will be headed off to Lexington to play for the University of Kentucky next season. In fact, Blane stated that if not for Emmy’s move to play collegiate softball they might be carting him out someday “in a wheelchair” to coach the Christian County Lady Colonels.

Blane went on to add that he expects the job opening to be posted sometime in the next several days, and that they hope to have a new coach in place by the end of June.

Blane took over as coach for the Lady Colonels in the 2014 season, replacing Greg Glass.
