Calista Collins homered twice to back the pitching of Allye Culp as Lyon County hammered Union County 11-1 Thursday in Eddyville.
The Lyon County sophomore led off the third inning with a home run and added a three-run shot in the fourth. She finished the game with four hits and five RBIs.
Eleven different Lady Lyons had hits in the game, with Sydney Melton, Nelli Walker, and Culp (2 RBIs) each recording two hits. After a scoreless first inning, Lyon County scored in every frame after that, including three runs in the fifth inning to kick in the mercy rule.
Culp was masterful in the circle, spinning a three-hitter and striking out eight while walking none and allowing no earned runs.
Lyon County (22-10) will travel to Louisville Saturday to play South Oldham and No. 14 Ballard.
